and why I couldn’t.
Its first shape came through the hand of a child —
my son, who drew Howwie when he was eleven.
His presence changed everything.
In his reflection, I saw the part of me that had gone untouched for too long.
It was not his voice that taught me,
but his being.
And the love that moved in me — so deep, I knew:
if I didn’t find a way for how to let my love for him enter my heart,
one day I would regret it.
And by then, one day, it would be too late to regret.
A quiet motion in stillness followed —
a soft cracking, and understanding:
why there was a glass wall I’d built around myself.
Not to escape pain, but to walk through it,
until it became a doorway to myself — and the world.
